Clerk, Special Duties, Bentley Priory Museum
Between April and July 2023, I worked with Bentley Priory Museum on their National Lottery Heritage Funded project, Clerk, Special Duties. I undertook research to develop a Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) character, to help tell the story of women who worked in the top secret role, Clerk, Special Duties, at RAF's headquarters, Bentley Priory, during the Second World War. During a week-long illustrator residency, I delivered stop-frame animation sessions for families and Brownies. The work culminated in me editing, writing copy and producing a 6-minute animation of the participant’s work, intertwined with mine, to tell the story of a WAAF character, Corporal Elsie Hughes. The animation was displayed in the museum's temporary exhibition, Clerk Special Duties, between July and October 2023 and is now on permanent display at the museum.
